Richard was born in North Wales. He has also lived and worked in the Western Highlands of Scotland, as well as Spain, Majorca and South Wales.
His writing captures the colour, scenery and lifestyle of those particular places. For over thirty years he worked in the financial services industry and began writing as a hobby some twenty-five years ago. During that time he has written many novels and numerous short stories. Now in retirement he has the time to pursue the publication of his literary work. He and his wife currently live in Monmouthshire and Spain, from where they are able to participate in their other hobby, mountain walking.
